Jennifer Glidden, Soprano, has received acclaim for her rich, full tone and charismatic stage presence. Most recently, Ms. Glidden was a featured soloist with the Dallas Lone Star Wind Symphony under the direction of Maestro Phillip Clements. In addition, she was a featured artist on Maestro David Itkin’s Symphony Meets Jazz Gala at the Winspear Concert Hall. An avid performer and recitalist, she actively performs in a variety of musical styles including opera, oratorio, art songs, musical theater, and jazz. Her favorite opera credits include the title role of Regina in Marc Blitzstein’s Regina, Donna Anna in Mozart’s Don Giovanni, Miss Jessel in the Turn of the Screw, the Countess in The Marriage of Figaro, and Madame Butterfly in Puccini’s Madame Butterfly.
Ms. Glidden holds a Bachelor of Music Degree in Vocal Performance from Southern Methodist University and a Masters of Music in Vocal Performance from the Cincinnati College-Conservatory of Music. She is currently completing her Doctorate of Musical Arts in Vocal Performance at the University of North Texas and is a student of the internationally renowned pedagogue Dr. Stephen F. Austin.
Currently, Ms. Glidden serves on the Voice Faculty at Texas A&M University Commerce, teaches in the GISD Music Enrichment Program, and continues to maintain a private voice studio in Garland, TX.
In 2011, Ms. Glidden earned first place in the 15thInternational Canto Lirico Voice Competition and Festival held in Trujillo, Peru. Ms. Glidden made her international debut with the Juvenil Silvestre Revueltas Symphonic Orchestra and Chorus in Celaya, Mexico. In addition, she has been invited by the Iberian and Latin American Music Society to present a solo recital at St. Martin-in-the-Fields in London, England in September 2013.
